Description
Loch Faskally is the loch which was created behind the hydro dam at Pitlochry. The loch commences at the dam and extends upstream for two miles to where the rivers Tummel and Garry join beside Clunie Power Station.
The main method of fishing Loch Faskally is by trolling from a motor boat. The most successful lures tend to be various plugs like tomics and kynochs but spoons like the Toby can also do well.
There are 18 boats with outboard engines for hire on the Loch, either for a half or full day. Each boat can accommodate up to three people. Though two miles long the loch is only a few hundred yards wide and offers safe boating conditions. Life jackets are supplied to everyone.
Loch Faskally starts to fish once salmon start to ascend the fish pass at Pitlochry Dam. Normally this really starts in April and picks up in May. Often the nicest fish of the season are caught around then, being fresh from the sea. However, fish can still be taken right through the rest of the season.
There is plenty of fishing available on Loch Faskally throughout the season. For more information, contact the details given below.
